Environmental groups have released a report saying that the US EPA’s proposed changes to its Risk Management Program (RMP) regulations don’t do enough to prevent accidents at facilities that store and use hazardous materials.
The proposed rule – which applies to facilities that store, manufacture, use or handle certain quantities of hazardous chemicals – aims to strengthen the RMP through amendments including assessing climate change and loss of power in hazard reviews.
